Practical Next Steps

One of, if not the most exciting moment in your life is the very second you believed Jesus was your Lord and Savior.

We are thrilled to be a part of such an important decision and want to make sure you are set up with some resources that you might find beneficial as you start your journey with Christ.

Get a Bible

AND READ IT!

This will help you learn more about God and what He is all about. Like any relationship you must invest time and learn more about each other to grow and strengthen it.

This site is a great tool for an online Bible, BibleStudyTools.com.  It also has a variety of versions, like the NIV, NASB, and KJV and find the one that best suits you and that you understand.

If you don't have a Bible and would like one please send us an email here and we will send you one for free.

A great place to start is to read through the four Gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John) which account for the life of Jesus Christ.

Blue Letter Bible is an excellent app with lots of free commentary on each of the books of the Bible.

Find a Christian Bible Based Church

It is very important for you to meet new Christian friends to fellowship with.

Just about every church has community groups or small groups that pair you with a group of people who are around the same age and same stage of life.

Also most churches have groups for new Christians where they walk with you through any questions or struggles you may have as you start your faith journey.

Church also provides you teaching, instruction, and accountability.

Ask around and see if anyone you know goes to a Bible teaching church.  And remember, it is okay to visit a few churches before deciding on which one you would like to attend.

If you would like assistance in finding a church, email us and we are happy to be of service!

Prayer

Prayer is simply talking to God.

Just like reading your Bible is how you learn more about God, prayer is how you communicate with God.  Just like other relationships, communication is essential to develop them. It may seem strange at first talking to someone who does not talk back audibly, but God hears and does answer prayers.

Keep in mind since you are a new Christian, the enemy, satan will try and put doubt in your mind "you aren't really saved" or "this Christian stuff is not real."

It is essential that you follow these steps and make them regular habits in your life. Becoming a Christian does not eliminate the tough times in life that you will most certainly still go through, but it provides you a way to get through them with the help of the Creator of this world, God.  He will give you the power, strength, and ability to get through anything that comes against you.
